A non-stop dance class with Asal and Maíra at the Japanese Hall on Alexander Street. Sunday, October 4. Proceeds go to BC Cancer.
The afternoon
All ages, all levels. If you have never taken a Zumba class in your life, this is the easiest one to start with. Nobody is watching you, they are all facing the stage.
Come early enough to find a spot on the wood floor. Water bottle, shoes you can pivot in, something pink if you have it.
Asal and Maíra trade off on stage, song after song. Sit one out whenever you need to. Plenty of people do, then get straight back up.
Everyone piles onto the stage and the steps in front of it for the photo that closes the afternoon.
